The Trump administration says far-left political violence has become a “transnational” threat and wants countries worldwide to join a coordinated crackdown. Secretary of State Marco Rubio launched the push at an international ministerial meeting on “the Resurgence of Political Terrorism,” arguing that far-left terrorism has been treated as a blind spot. With more than 60 delegations expected from Europe to Asia, Rubio urged deeper intelligence sharing and joint action against attacks he links to an ideology of “poisonous resentment.”
