Irish author Sally Rooney and her publisher, Faber & Faber, have agreed to stop supplying her books in the UK. Rooney said her public commitment to support Palestine Action, including through royalties, means UK publishing contracts could now constitute a serious criminal offence. Faber said current legislation prevents it from passing UK earnings to her, making continued sales untenable. Existing copies in British shops can still be sold until stocks run out; they do not need to be returned. Faber will continue selling Rooney’s books elsewhere.
