Scientists describe rhythm as part of our biological toolkit, a universal capacity that helps coordinate movement, communication, and social connection. Even before language or conscious thought, newborns are listening with expectation, revealing the deep evolutionary roots of human perception. In these first hours, the brain is already orchestrating patterns, anticipating the beats that will accompany life’s unfolding symphony.
