In response, discussions are ongoing between the Treasury, lawmakers, and key industry stakeholders to reach a compromise on the most controversial aspects of the bill. These include stablecoin oversight, access to payment systems, and the responsibilities of regulators such as the SEC and CFTC.

The current impasse highlights the growing tensions between technological innovation and regulation in the United States. Without a timely agreement, the legislation could remain stalled, delaying the legal clarity essential for the expansion of crypto markets and institutional adoption.
