Thousands of Jobs at Virgin Media O2 to Be Cut

Thousands of Virgin Media O2 employees face redundancy as the company seeks to cut costs amid heavy debt and fierce competition. The exact number of roles has not been finalized, but one source suggested up to 4,000 could be affected across its 16,000-strong workforce. Most cuts are expected in non-customer-facing roles, and the company is also reviewing its use of contractors and suppliers. VMO2 declined to comment. The Prospect union called the plans unsettling and said it would support members and seek to reduce redundancies.
