Global Fuel Shortages Could Ease in 2027 as India’s Diesel Export Refineries Pick Up Pace

India is preparing to increase diesel exports from 2027 as state-owned refiners expand production, potentially easing pressure on fuel-starved markets. Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said new facilities and refinery upgrades will add substantial diesel-making capacity. Indian Oil expects higher output after expansions, while Hindustan Petroleum’s new Rajasthan refinery is set to ramp up. India has become one of the world’s largest diesel exporters.
