Tanker Attacks in the Strait of Hormuz Reach Highest Weekly Level Since Iran War Began

At least 12 oil, liquefied natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas tankers were attacked around the Strait of Hormuz between September 28 and October 5, according to three maritime security sources. They said it was the highest number recorded in a single week since the US war with Iran began on February 28. The US Navy-led Joint Maritime Information Centre also reported continued attacks, attempted attacks and harassment, including drone overflights and surveillance. Separately, the UN shipping agency recorded nine vessel incidents that week
