Talks With US Won’t Happen While Interim Deal Is Breached, Iranian Minister Araqchi Says

Iran and the United States are not in direct talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said, adding that Tehran will not begin negotiations while Washington is in breach of an interim agreement signed in June. Araqchi said the sides are instead exchanging messages through intermediaries. He reiterated Iran’s view that an arrangement with Oman on reopening the Strait of Hormuz is in its final stages, but he said it would not reopen the strait until other conditions set by the US are met.
