Russia has submitted a proposal in response to India’s tender for five additional S-400 “Sudarshan” air-defense units, a potential deal valued at $5.25 billion. The offer would expand India’s existing inventory of the Russian-made missile systems, which are designed to track and intercept aircraft, drones, and incoming missiles. Negotiations are expected to address pricing, delivery schedules, technology support, and financing. Any agreement would reinforce defense ties between Moscow and New Delhi while shaping India’s broader military modernization long-term strategy efforts.
