Putin Allows Seizure of Russian Businesses Over Drone Attacks

Russian President Vladimir Putin has authorized the temporary takeover of critical infrastructure whose owners fail to protect facilities from Ukrainian drone attacks. The decree covers businesses in energy, fuel, manufacturing, communications, transport, logistics, and other sectors considered vital to Russia’s security and economic stability. State agencies or government-appointed managers may assume control of property, shares, and other assets if companies neglect security requirements or fail to restore damage. Income generated by the seized property will fund its maintenance. The measure follows repeated strikes on Russian oil facilities and logistics centers.
