North Korean officials laid wreaths at Pyongyang’s Friendship Tower on Sunday to honor Chinese soldiers who died in the Korean War. The ceremony marked the 76th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Volunteers’ entry into the 1950–53 conflict. Chinese embassy officials and a delegation from China’s veterans affairs ministry joined the event. Wreaths were also placed at Chinese soldiers’ cemeteries and graves in Anju, Hoechang County, Onsong County and Kaesong. The tribute followed Kim Jong-un’s visit to Dandong last week.
