Lebanese PM Accuses Hezbollah Chief of “Serving Israel” Ahead of Talks

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam accused Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem of “serving Israel” and rejecting Lebanon’s sovereignty, hours before the seventh round of direct talks between Lebanon and Israel under U.S. auspices. Salam said Hezbollah’s actions—framing them as a unilateral “support front”—dragged Lebanon into wartime adventures, giving Israel pretexts to attack, destroy communities, and displace hundreds of thousands. Hezbollah’s leader had earlier criticized the state for concessions to Israel and called for dialogue with “the resistance.”
