Japan, U.K. Agree to Cooperate on Iran, Ukraine, North Korea

Japan and the U.K. agreed to deepen cooperation addressing major security challenges, including Iran, Russia’s war against Ukraine, and North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs. Ministers reiterated condemnation of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and emphasized further support for Kyiv. They also stressed the need for de-escalation around Iran and safer navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. On North Korea, they reaffirmed commitment to complete, verifiable, irreversible dismantlement of its weapons and ballistic missile programs, and condemned ongoing testing activities.
