Israel has reaffirmed its support for Cyprus’s sovereignty and territorial integrity on the 52nd anniversary of Turkey’s 1974 invasion, marking the day of continued division. In a statement, Israel’s foreign ministry said it stands in solidarity with Cyprus while describing Turkey’s ongoing military presence in the island’s north as unacceptable, along with Ankara’s unilateral attempts to change the status quo. Israel also urged the resumption of negotiations toward a “just, viable and lasting solution” to the conflict.
