Intoxicated Pilot Steals Plane, Buzzes Nuclear Plant, and Crashes into Sunflower Field

A routine night turned into a high-stakes emergency after an intoxicated pilot allegedly stole a light aircraft, flew dangerously close to a restricted nuclear power plant, and ultimately crash-landed in a nearby sunflower field.

The incident unfolded late last Sunday night, August 30, 2026 when airfield staff reported an unauthorized departure of a single-engine light aircraft. Witnesses reported seeing the plane take off erratically, swaying heavily during climb-out and failing to establish radio contact with air traffic control. Radar tracking quickly revealed the aircraft was heading directly toward a secured airspace corridor surrounding a local nuclear power station.

"The flight path was completely erratic," stated an air traffic controller on duty. "The aircraft was making sharp, unexplained altitude changes and heading straight for restricted airspace."
