German authorities have opened a terror investigation after explosives were found near a substation serving the Jänschwalde power plant in Brandenburg. Police said improvised devices were aimed at high-voltage transmission lines, causing two short circuits and a brief interruption. Operator 50Hertz confirmed that all lines returned to service and electricity supplies were unaffected. Specialized teams secured the site, while Brandenburg’s State Criminal Police Office took over the inquiry. No suspects have been identified, amid concerns about coordinated attacks on critical infrastructure.
