A self-styled vigilante group calling itself the Chelmsley Wood Patriots confronted Indian students at Meriden Park in the West Midlands, telling them to stay away and “go home.” Members filmed the encounter, claiming they were protecting women and children. Local activists criticized the confrontation, saying students had a right to use the public park. Solihull Police said it did not endorse or work with the group and noted stop-and-search powers belong to police. Police said they would take action if misconduct is reported to police.
