HBO has ordered a television series based on Kevin Kwan’s Crazy Rich Asians books, with stars from the 2018 film returning. Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh and Ronny Chieng are among the cast. The series is a separate project from the long-discussed film sequel, which remains in development. Adele Lim, who co-wrote the movie, and director Jon M. Chu are attached as executive producers. The new show will explore stories from Kwan’s book world, expanding the franchise beyond the original film’s central romance.
