Bangladesh Makes Extradition of Hasina and Hadi’s Killers Conditions for Tarique Rahman’s India Visit

Bangladesh says it has set two conditions for Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s possible visit to India: New Delhi must expedite the extradition of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and other fugitives, and it must hand over the accused killers of Sharif Osman Hadi in line with the countries’ extradition treaty. Bangladesh’s foreign ministry spokesman AKM Shahidul Karim said Dhaka and Delhi had discussed the visit for weeks, but the process was damaged by an open press interaction in New Delhi involving Hasina.
