Bangladesh Ex-PM Hasina Says Ban on Her Party Should Be Lifted

Sheikh Hasina, the ousted former prime minister of Bangladesh, said the ban on her party, the Awami League, should be lifted. In an interview, she argued excluding her party from politics is “unjust” and would deepen divisions rather than stabilize the country ahead of elections. Hasina has been living in exile in India since fleeing after a student-led uprising last year. She warned supporters may boycott the next vote if the ban remains in place.
