US Threatens to Halt Ukraine Arms Procurement Over Strikes on Russian Energy Sites

The United States is threatening to suspend the system used to procure American weapons for Ukraine unless Kyiv halts deep strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, the Financial Times reported, citing European officials. The reported pressure also included a possible cutoff of intelligence sharing and the PURL mechanism, which helps arrange US weapons for Ukraine. Washington was said to be contacting Kyiv and European capitals. Reuters said it could not immediately verify the report, and the White House did not immediately respond. Kyiv was awaiting details of President Donald Trump’s announced energy ceasefire.
