US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow as Washington renewed efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war. The discussions come after months of stalled diplomacy and continued attacks by both sides. The envoys are expected to travel to Kyiv next, giving Ukraine a direct role in the latest initiative. Russia and Ukraine have agreed to temporarily pause strikes on each other’s capitals during the meetings, though major obstacles remain before any lasting ceasefire can be achieved
