UN Teacher Says She Was Threatened After Opposing Lessons She Claims Promoted Antisemitism

Palestinian teacher employed by the UN agency for Palestinian refugees says a school administrator threatened her after she challenged lessons she believed encouraged hatred of Jews and praised Hamas. The teacher, who has not been named for safety reasons, told a newspaper that an administrator threatened to cut her tongue. She also alleged that colleagues blamed Jews for Palestinian suffering and urged girls to continue Hamas’s struggle. The agency says it does not tolerate incitement or support for terrorism. The allegations have not been independently verified.
