UK Says Iran’s Revolutionary Guard ‘Almost Certainly’ Directed Suspected RAF Fairford Plot

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham told lawmakers on Monday that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard almost certainly directed a suspected plot targeting RAF Fairford, a U.S.-used air base in England. Seven men have been arrested in the investigation, but all were released on bail and none has been charged. Police said gasoline was found in three vans linked to the initial suspects; no explosives were found. Iran has denied involvement. The British government summoned Iran’s ambassador, while U.S. bombers were moved from the base last week.
