UK and Italy Among States Considered to Verify Hezbollah Disarmament, Sources Say

Israel and Lebanon have agreed on a list of countries that could take part in a mechanism to verify Iran-backed Hezbollah’s disarmament, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The shortlist reportedly includes Britain, Italy, Switzerland, and Indonesia, alongside other partners under consideration. The countries emerged from US-mediated talks in Rome last week. A Lebanese official told Reuters that Washington would ultimately decide which states from the list would join the verification effort.
