Two Dead After U.S. Army Apache Crash in Texas Sparks Fire, Officials Say

Two people died after a U.S. Army helicopter crash in Salado, Texas, authorities said. The Bell County Sheriff’s Office reported the crash occurred in a field near the Fort Hood area and sparked a grass fire that was quickly described as “out of control.” U.S. Army officials identified the aircraft as an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter based at Fort Hood. No buildings were damaged, and investigators are still working to determine what caused the crash.
