AUSTIN, TX — A typical afternoon commute turned into a scene of utter horror on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 when a twin-engine light aircraft suffered catastrophic failure and plummeted directly onto a heavily congested multi-lane highway, leaving one person dead and sending terrified motorists scrambling for safety.

Witnesses described a scene of absolute chaos as the crippled aircraft clipped power lines and slammed into the asphalt, immediately erupting into a violent fireball. Amazingly, several individuals managed to survive the initial impact, executing a miraculous escape from the burning wreckage as it slid down the road.

The incident occurred just after 3:30 p.m. local time.
