Tensions run high in Lindsay Clancy trial amid drama over holdout juror

Where things stand now

• Deliberations in seventh day: The jury in the Lindsay Clancy trial resumed deliberations this morning, as Judge William Sullivan said he won’t question a juror who the defense argued is a holdout. A jury note to the judge yesterday indicated they are split 11 to 1.

• Drama over holdout juror: Clancy’s attorney Kevin Reddington said two jury notes indicate one juror refuses to apply the law and “was not being honest” with the judge. There is no indication the juror has declined to deliberate, Sullivan said. Reddington previously asked that the person be removed from the jury.

• About the case: Clancy is accused of murder after strangling her three young children in 2023. Prosecutors have argued she acted “intentionally, rationally, and swiftly” to kill her children, while the defense said she should not be held criminally responsible because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis.
