Sweden’s parliament speaker has asked Social Democratic leader Magdalena Andersson to make a second attempt to form a government after she failed to secure sufficient support. Her center-left bloc won 176 seats in the September election, compared with 173 for Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s right-wing coalition. However, disagreements among the winning parties have complicated coalition negotiations. Andersson must report back by October 12, while any eventual government will need cross-party backing to survive a parliamentary confidence vote in coming weeks
