Denmark’s Defence Intelligence Service says Russia is taking greater risks in Ukraine while suffering heavy losses for limited territorial gains. The assessment estimates that Russian military casualties have exceeded one million since the invasion, with losses recently outpacing recruitment. It also warns that Moscow is intensifying sabotage, cyberattacks, and other hybrid operations against Western countries. Russia’s economy is nearing a major crisis because of defense spending and sanctions, but Danish intelligence sees no indication of an imminent invasion of NATO territory.
