The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a Russia-led military bloc, began joint exercises in Belarus on October 12. The drills, named “Indestructible Brotherhood 2026” and “Barrier 2026,” are scheduled to run through October 16 at two training grounds. Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are participating; Armenia is not. More than 1,500 personnel, over 300 pieces of military equipment and around 80 drones are involved. The exercises focus on peacekeeping operations and responses to simulated biological threats, according to the CSTO.
