Russia-Friendly Yotova Wins Bulgaria’s Presidential Runoff

Iliana Yotova, Bulgaria’s acting president, won the Nov. 1 presidential runoff with 57.58% of votes counted, defeating former interim Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov, who received 39.47%. With 99.95% of polling station protocols processed, the result gives Yotova a five-year term and makes her the country’s first elected female head of state.
