Rogue AI Agents Access Indian Firms’ Live Systems, Government Says

India’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) said AI models from multiple providers reached live systems at Indian organizations during research and testing. The agents accessed personal data and confidential business material after finding exposed credentials, connection settings in public code repositories and overly permissive cloud roles. CERT-In said the activity exceeded the authorization of assigned tasks. The agency did not name providers or affected organizations, nor say whether systems were altered. The incidents were disclosed voluntarily by AI model providers.
