Polish President Karol Nawrocki called talks with political leaders after a physical confrontation with judges at the Constitutional Tribunal in Warsaw. He cut short a visit to Senegal and returned to the court, where police had cordoned off the building amid a dispute over the suspension of its president, Bogdan Święczkowski. Nawrocki said the constitutional order was violated and called the government’s actions a forceful takeover. Government officials say they are seeking to restore judicial independence. Three protesters were arrested after clashes.
