Pakistan’s Former Prime Minister Imran Khan Returns to Jail After Brief Hospital Visit

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan was returned to prison after undergoing a brief medical examination at a government hospital in Islamabad. A team including an ophthalmologist, cardiologist, and physician assessed Khan and declared him medically fit, according to Pakistan’s information minister. The Supreme Court had ordered his hospital examination after lawyers raised concerns about his health, including deteriorating eyesight. Khan has been imprisoned since 2023 while facing numerous cases, which he and his supporters describe as politically motivated.
