Pakistan army chief leveraged private oil venture with IRGC head to shield Saudi Arabia — report

A report says Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir used a behind-the-scenes private oil transportation venture linked to IRGC commander Ahmad Vahidi to help broker a Saudi-Iran understanding. Three officials told The Times of Israel that the arrangement, reached in late March, came after Saudi Arabia faced repeated Iranian missile attacks early in the fighting. The claim is that Munir dangled continued operation of the venture to encourage Tehran to halt attacks on Saudi Arabia. The report adds that Iran later fired again, triggering concerns over the deal.
