Fort Hood, Texas closed the “Operation Iraqi Freedom Dining Facility” after a video surfaced showing dozens of roaches scurrying along kitchen walls. A soldier who worked there sent the clip to a U.S. Army social media account, saying the infestation “shouldn’t be happening.” The DFAC served breakfast but was closed later the same day. Lt. Col. Joey Payton said it would remain shut until remediation is completed and an investigation is ongoing. Food service was shifted to other dining facilities and additional food trucks.
