Iranian media report that former IRGC commander Mohsen Rezaei has been appointed as the Supreme Leader’s representative on the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC). The appointment is reported to make him the council’s secretary, succeeding Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr after Zolghadr’s resignation. Rezaei is also said to have been named Mojtaba Khamenei’s military adviser earlier this year. The change reflects continued reshuffling within Iran’s top security decision-making bodies.
