Mexico City unveiled a La Catrina sculpture in the Zócalo ahead of Día de Muertos, measuring 33.4 meters (about 110 feet) tall. The Guinness World Records-certified figure, dressed in a purple gown, towers above an altar decorated with around 70,000 marigold plants from Xochimilco. Created by artists and technicians from Taller Xibalbá, the installation honors the holiday’s traditions and the iconic skeleton figure. It is scheduled to remain on display through November 2, drawing visitors to the city’s central square.
