The Masa Sara Duterte Alliance (MASADA) is set to re-launch a nationwide campaign aiming to mobilize more than 32 million Filipinos who supported Sara Duterte in the 2022 elections to renew their backing for her anticipated 2028 presidential run, organizers said.
MASADA convenor Benito Ranque said the campaign — which will include grassroots mobilization across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao — is designed to solidify support among voters who previously backed Duterte’s vice presidential bid.
“We will bring our message directly to the people,” Ranque said, noting that the group plans rallies and outreach events to re engage the broad base of supporters. He added that key national issues such as Duterte’s impeachment proceedings, the International Criminal Court trial of her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, and ongoing flood control concerns will form part of the campaign’s “political battle cry.”
The prelaunch event is expected to draw over 100 political supporters from different regions, with MASADA leadership planning a major gathering in Tagum City as the campaign’s kickoff.
Originally known as the Mayor Sara Duterte Alliance when it urged then Davao City Mayor Duterte to run for president in 2022, the movement later became the Marcos Sara Duterte Alliance during the 2022 election cycle, uniting supporters behind the Marcos Duterte ticket. After that election, MASADA’s role faded before being reactivated ahead of the 2028 political landscape.
Duterte announced her intention to seek the presidency in 2028 on February 18, 2026, a move that has drawn both political enthusiasms from allies and criticism from opponents. Her candidacy comes amid multiple impeachment complaints and heightened national political discourse.
Supporters of Duterte’s bid — including political parties like PDP Laban — have openly backed her candidacy, calling it a historic and unifying step for the nation’s future.
Meanwhile, some political figures have warned that early positioning could be premature or distracting from broader national issues, while others view the campaign as a strategic effort to solidify her base ahead of 2028.
As the political season unfolds, MASADA’s nationwide campaign seeks to rekindle momentum from Duterte’s strong 2022 vote tally and translate it into sustained support for her presidential ambitions.
