Manhunt Underway After Brutal Rural Axe Attack Leaves Three Victims Critically Injured in Victoria

Tyers, Australia—Emergency dispatchers received a frantic triple-zero call from a rural property just after midday on Saturday. A man known to the household had allegedly arrived at the Cowies Road address carrying a weapon. He launched a sudden and brutal assault on three occupants inside the isolated dwelling. The victims included an elderly man, an elderly woman, and another adult male.

First responders arrived to find a scene of absolute devastation. The attacker had already fled on foot into the surrounding semi-rural terrain before police units reached the property. Paramedics quickly triaged the wounded trio, all of whom sustained catastrophic injuries.

Two of the victims, the elderly man and the second adult male, suffered life-threatening trauma. Medical crews prepared both men for emergency helicopter transport to major trauma hospitals in Melbourne. The elderly woman sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby regional medical center.

Victoria Police established an urgent command post and deployed dog squads and the air wing to comb the area. Investigators identified the primary suspect as a man aged in his fifties. Intelligence reports indicate he may be carrying both an axe and a hand saw. Officers warned locals that the fugitive is considered dangerous and should not be approached under any circumstances.

The suspect was last seen wearing a distinctive black-and-mustard jacket alongside a dark backpack. Local residents locked their doors and kept watch as police vehicles flooded surrounding country lanes. Detectives are currently canvassing neighboring properties for residential security and dashcam footage. Investigators have not yet established a definitive motive for the violent confrontation.

Forensic teams arrived at the rural homestead late Saturday afternoon to process the crime scene. Community leaders expressed shock at the unprecedented level of violence in the quiet township. Local schools and public facilities implemented precautionary lockdowns during the initial search phase.

Air support units circled low over dense brushland as daylight began to fade. Police commanders emphasized that the search operation will continue through the night. Authorities urged anyone with immediate sighting reports or relevant information to contact emergency services without delay.
