Man denied NHS knee replacement surgery buys exoskeleton to keep working three jobs

Paul Martin, 57, has lived with osteoarthritis and severe knee pain for a decade. He says he was told he needed to be at least 60 before receiving an artificial knee. The Leicester fish-and-chip shop owner also works as a security officer and funeral worker, and bought a robotic walking aid, or exoskeleton, to help him stay active. University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust said treatment options depend on individual clinical needs. Martin says he plans to seek knee replacement surgery again when he turns 60
