Franklin County’s coroner reported Monday that a 39-year-old woman had died after a recent measles infection, marking Pennsylvania’s sixth measles-associated death this year. The woman had several underlying medical conditions, and the coroner described the probable cause as an acute cardiac event possibly linked to measles complications. The state health department said it was reviewing the case. Pennsylvania has reported 1,136 measles cases and 219 hospitalizations this year, amid its largest outbreak in decades. State officials have not yet added the death to their official tally.
