Lettuce associated with Taylor Farms has tested positive in connection with a U.S. parasite outbreak. The FDA said a sample of shredded iceberg lettuce from Mexico supplied by Taylor Farms tested positive for Cyclospora, the parasite that causes cyclosporiasis. Federal and state investigations are ongoing and officials are still determining whether any other portions of the implicated lot are in commerce or in consumers’ homes. In the meantime, consumers and restaurants are being advised not to eat the recalled lettuce and to discard it or return it to the point of purchase.
