Lebanon’s military court charged 13 people over a truck carrying explosives seized at a checkpoint on the highway between Beirut and the Bekaa Valley. The shipment contained 780 kilograms of explosives, including TNT and C-4, according to judicial officials. Two defendants were arrested; the other 11 were charged in absentia. Hezbollah acknowledged owning the explosives and said they were intended for use against Israeli forces. The case comes as Beirut faces growing pressure to disarm the group and assert state control over security and foreign policy.
