Kenya has confirmed its first Ebola death after a citizen who had lived in the Democratic Republic of Congo tested positive for the Bundibugyo virus. Health Minister Aden Duale said the patient became ill in Congo, traveled through Uganda, and arrived in Nairobi by plane on Saturday. The patient died at 23:30 on Monday after treatment in Nairobi. Authorities identified 28 contacts and began tracing passengers and crew members. Kenya’s confirmation marks the virus’s first known appearance in the country.
