Ireland is set to create a public register of people convicted of domestic violence against a current or former partner, after the legislation was approved by TDs. The plan, nicknamed “Jennie’s Law” after Jennifer Poole, would allow convicted offenders to be publicly named on a register. The Courts Service would host the register online. A key feature is consent: survivors must agree before an offender can be included. The offences covered include serious violent and sexual crimes, harassment, threats, and related offenses involving partners.
