Iran Backs Political Process to Resolve Saudi-Houthi Conflict

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran supports an inclusive political process to resolve the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthis. Speaking in Baghdad at a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, he called dialogue the only practical and sustainable route to a settlement. Araghchi repeated Iran’s offer to mediate, though a deputy minister said Riyadh had not responded. Iran also denied Saudi accusations that it encouraged the Houthis’ attacks, which have hit Saudi energy facilities and airports.
