An Indian national has been indicted in Minnesota for allegedly falsely claiming US citizenship to vote in the 2024 general election. Mukeshkumar Somabhai Chaudhari reportedly signed a voter certification on November 5, 2024, affirming that he was an American citizen. Prosecutors charged him with providing false voting information and making a fraudulent citizenship claim to register or vote. Each count carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. Chaudhari is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court
