Greece Inks Record $3.5 Billion Deal for Comprehensive Israeli Missile Defense System

Greece and Israel have signed a €3 billion, or roughly $3.5 billion, agreement for the “Achilles Shield” air defense system. The network will combine Israeli-made David’s Sling, BARAK MX, and SPYDER systems with advanced radar and command infrastructure. Designed to counter threats ranging from ballistic missiles to small drones, the system will provide Greece with its first complete, multi-tiered defense array. Officials described the agreement as a major step in bilateral military cooperation and a central part of Greece’s effort to modernize its armed forces.
